Most of you know how I change like the weather in retaining ownership of any speedster I buy to rehab. With my Auto Hauling businiess taking up most of my time, the speedster hobby for pocket jingle is on the back burner. Hey I was getting burned out anyway (no pun)
This year's Carlisle gathering so impressed me that I started a casual hunt for the right speedster for me to redo as a keeper.
Last Sunday AM I awoke to this one having just been listed on ebay, w/o hesitation boom......hit the Buy It Now....
It will arrive here at my shop this Thursday, I have no idea as to the mechanical and or cosmetic plans until I get to go over the car.
I do, vision a Saturday speedster tear down session w/34 degree beers and steaks on the BQ .....Rocky ?.... Bill ?

Dammit Alan I knew we had something in common. I might have to make a trip out there for a wrenchin session and those beers. Car looks great, what a project.

As for me I got bored having my speedster done. So I bought a 96 YZ 250 thats in pieces. Cant leave well enough alone, right!

After making sure it turned over freely and had oil pressure, I ran it for a few seconds today with a splash of fresh fuel in the Weber 48's bowls, (carbs are too big for the motor) it sounds healthy ....So, it's alive. Doors, deck lid, hood all fit well and no waves in the body. The light battle ship gray exterior also eludes my senses.
For a car sitting in Texas then Denver since 1989, it's in amazingly clean condition. I'm in the deciding stages as to how to redo this flared CMC........ Paint, interior, wheels, engine bay cosmetics etc.

I have a CMC top that I took to a local shop just today to get a price on or may use a Hartz VS top...I also have a fiberglass hard top shell that has been hanging from the shop ceiling for some time now. I slightly butchered it last Fall the overall length was 3" too short. As time permits, I'll try to make it into a custom low hard top before this speedster hits the spray booth.

Mark, I'm still thinking this through, decisions....decisions.
