My Speedster is On the Road and ALL legal again

Check it out everyone, I got the dash all finished and finally took some time to get some pics up.

Such a different car now. The burnt orange gel coat was color sanded back to red, and the CMC gauge set up is gone as is the radio that was cut into the dash. Now its just my ipod and sunglasses that I carry into the little tub.

I'm jealous, just when it was looking like a few weeks away I could take Fern out, 2 more feet of snow. Looks great, nice job.

It looks like you did an OUTSTANDING job on the re-do of your Speedy. It also looks like you're with Fullerton Fire Dept. COOL!

Nice job, Brother. You'll be the envy of the firehouse. Make sure you park it in between everyone else's big, giant trucks at least once and take a photo!

Ya I did all the work myself. Took time and patience(which I usually dont have much of) But I'm happy with the results. Now I have to get rid of a flat spot in my carbs. Typical webber idle to main flat spot. Just driving me nuts right now.

Send Desi (CABANABOY) a PM. He is close to your area of HB and could give you some tips on your carb issues. I think he just got back from a month surf trip to Costa Rico so he should be around!

Darren; get an SVDA distributor (vacuum advance) from Aircooled.net and hook it up to the vacuum port in one (or both) of your Webers. The flat spot will be history.

The 009 sucks? I have a distributor already. I guess I just have to pop it in. Thanks guys.

Actually it doesn't suck (it's centrifugal advance) but it's mainly appropriate for racing purposes. Believe me; I have an .009 and after I switched to SVDA the flat spot is gone (even when not fully warmed up).

no the flat spot is still there. Been working all week so I haven't gotten to it. I'm going to try to make cars and coffee this saturday. What time does it start? Last time I was there was when it was stil the crystal cove exotic get together.

The Cars & Coffee meet is every Saturday morning 07:00-09:00am (rain or shine). Since the lot is more than twice what was Crystal Cove was, the space is not monopolized by the Ferrari/Lamborghini/Maserati clubs. There is a very good mix of cool cars, lots of Porsches and other Euro cars (Austin Healy, Mini Cooper, MG, BMW, etc) as well as a very diverse hot-rod/Detroit metal group. Also a lot of one-off custom cars & motorcycles.
