Ok everyone, I want an early 911 now. I hate to leave the group but I have the itch for a new project and having a one car garage limits my ability to keep the speedster. Stupid beach living... So I'm seeing if anyone is interested, Newbies or anyone else.

CMC body

72 IRS pan-no rust, registered as SB 100 and is smog exempt in CA

New Interior from JPS, but stupid me after a failed attempt to bring a TV home it has a few blems. One in the door top, small one in side bolster of seat and the e-brake cover. I still might call John and get it fixed before I sell.

1835, dual 40 webers, electronic ignition, external oil cooler with fan, runs great. Recently tuned by local VW racing shop. Tranny is 4 spd and runs thur gears perfectly.

New top and tonneaus.

Brazilian VDO gauges and yellow fogs.

Car is not perfect, but shines nice and is a perfect starter Speedster. For those of us fiscally challenged its a great car.

Asking $13,500 but any reasonable offers accepted.

Mark W said: "I do not see any mount holes for the side curtains, am I just missing them?" I thought Calif was the original "We don't need no stinkin' side curtains" cuz it never rains and is always balmy --- am I missing the Calif lure? Side curtains help protect one from the elements marginally - but I bet 40% of folks never fitted them and another 75% never put them on. On starter - most replicas use the 68-72 VW steering column - hence key on column. The column can easily be changed for more authenticity - but then you'd want to get rid of the floor mounted emergency brake too - in favor of the chrome umbrella handle under the center of dash.
Doug and Mark the car is still available. There are no side curtains. When I installed the interior I never had them so I never drilled for them. Yes the key is on the steering column. I am leaving for 3 days here but I will be available sat and sun.

Also I forgot to mention there is no radio but there is a iPod/MP3 player plug in that runs directly to an amp. Sounds awesome!

Thanks guys I appreciate all the help and support I have gotten from this site. Jim its going to be 67-71 911. So I may be askig for more work, but I'm up to the task. I want to create that classic 911 road rallye look.

The car is sold. Everyone please Welcome Mark Hjelm as the newest Speesdter Owner. He lives 10 miles from me so there is a good chance I will still see my little speedy around. I hope him the best with the car.

It was very tought to watch the car leave. Thanks everyone.

Darren Sylvester.
Yep, I just got me a SPEEDIE! Great to meet you today Darren and thanks for all the hard work you put into my new car. I don't know what I'll do to her but I'll keep in touch. I recently sold my 65 230 sl and my 64 convertible bug so I thought I needed a new toy. What was so ironic was 1/2 hour after I bought it Mary Duncan from Vintage called me about trading work for a new Vintage. I haven't talked to her in about 4 years! She rented an apt.from me in th 90's before she got married. I told her I just bought an older CMC a half hour ago but would still be willing to do some work for her and Kurt.PARTS IS PARTS! Now I just have to hide the car from my wife until the time is right.Boy will she be surprized! Great to be a non lurker finaly.
Later, Mark
Hi ya all,
Mary (VS) here. Yup, that was me with my ESP working. Mark had mentioned long ago he was interested and at that time hubby "Kirk" was interested in his MBZ...! Well, I just wanted to shoot myself when I finally got ahold of him and here he is just barely picking one up.. Oh well... still need a new kitchen and couple bathrooms. Doubt the swap will be even on the side curtains! And, apparently in CA. you do or did need them last year on the way to the Paso Robles meet.. So Mark, call us when your ready..
When your on PCH near Peters Landing I'm the "pewter w/ gray/black interior". SEA YA (what do you mean you didn't tell your wife"???
Well, this is "the other Mark" that missed out on a what sounded like a great car. Darn it! If anyone knows of someone interested in selling their Speedster to a good home let me know. I am looking for somewhat of a project car (something that runs, but may need a little work). Mary: do you and Kirk ever get any returns :-)?

Oh and BTW I do have permission from my wife to buy a car.
