Hi Kids!
After a couple of nights in Redding, I pulled into Medford Or. for visit stop. Next a 2 day stop in Cave Junction then back to I-5 North. Then over the mountains to the coast. We'll over-night in Tillamook. There, Kathy and I plan on checkin' out the "Spruce Goose" for sure!
From here on up to British Columbia we should see plenty of rain. Over the winter, I spent plenty of time weather-proofing the "sieve car".
So as far as wind & rain testing goes, this is where the "rubber meets the road".
Cheers, Ernie

Ernie, there is an aviation museum in Tillamook, but the Spruce Goose is in McMinville. They just opened up the new Space Museum also. Not a long way off I-5 if you want to catch it on your way home.
Also, if you have any water issues, I recently learned from Top Gear that a well-aimed 30-06 round through the floor will assure good drainage.

Ernie---you will be bowled over by the OR coast. We just returned home after a West Coast Driving trip---flew to Seattle for 2 days, then down the coast to Crescent City, CA to see the Redwoods, 2 days in SFO, one day in Napa Valley then to Hurst Castle then on to L.A. for two days. Got home last night. Fabulous trip all the way. Drove a rented Toyota SUV but wished I had been in the Speedster!

A great trip!---Jack
Ernie - I'm envious of your trip! Hope you continue to have fun and a safe return journey. Pics would be cool.

Jack - Sorry I missed your call when you were down in the L.A. area! Ironically, I was in the Speedster cruising through Laguna Beach and by the time I realized I had an incoming call, I couldn't get to my phone fast enough to pick up. I left a message on your voice mail.

I'm glad you had a good trip and that the weather was cooperative. Ginny & I are looking forward to meeting up with you in Colorado.

Peace -Out!
Hey Dale!
We're going to be in McMinnville on Friday cause we need to be in the Portland area this weekend to see relatives & friends. After that, it's up the Washington coast, then, BC. And, don't worry, I plan to check out IM for sure, then head east to Nelson (just above Idaho) to see friends. After that, we're turning south to head home down through Montana and Nevada.
Tonight, we're at Salmon Harbor in Winchester Bay, half way up the Oregon coast. It's a beautiful lil' fishing resort village that is (sadly) totally empty because of the currant fishing ban & high fuel prices. Go figure!
JACK.... Yer very right! The Oregon coast IS amazing!
MUSBJIM... Plenty of pictures will be coming soon!
Hey Ricardo!
Please don't yell at me about my rear end being too high! I know how you are! (LOL). I intentionally adjusted my spring plates up to save my tires on this long trip.
Anyway, Canada was still pretty chilly, but we're warming up now and we expect to be in Idaho tomorrow.
The car is performing well and the hi-fives come from people of all ages everywhere we go.
BTW... We haven't had a drop of rain (while on the road) yet!
Will, Warren, Jim and all....
After 15 days on the road, Kathy is starting to get serious hallucinations about being in her own bed, sound asleep. After a very long day on the road home today, I can't say that I blame her too much.
We're in Elko Nevada tonight where there seems to be about a million very excited & well rested Harley riders for a week end of party, party, party.
Lucky for us, we got a cheap room down at the end of the strip somewhat away from their action.
Anyway... More pictures later, I'll be checking the inside of my eyelids soon.
Good Nite!
