If someone painted it, they did an exceptional job, because it looks like it came from the factory that way. It looks like it's black metal. It's probably worth a million bucks, you know kinda like when they print a coin and make a mistake and it's worth more. Sounds like a #$%# sales pitch huh! Think I'll go do a search on the net and see if I'm rich!
That's a beautiful steering wheel ! ! Someone ought to scoop it up. If I didn't have my vintage Mota-Lita, I'd already own it.

On that wheel, it was fitted to the high end Fiat 124 and Dino, the spokes are black anodized. The anodizing can be chemically removed for a stock polished look or sanded away for a brushed look. You could even use a drill press and small brass wire brush for an engine turned look.

No matter which one you choose, you're only into the wheel for the price of an el-cheapo repro and you end up with the genuine article done up vintage custom..
