nardi wood wheels..are their different diamaters

my nardi is 15.5" across and it feels too big. Sometimes the wheel, my leg and the shifter in 2nd all hit at the same time.
Is there a smaller diameter nardi or would a new shifter like CSP with its shortened throw help the situation.

Nardis are offered in different sizes.
Mine is around 13"/330mm.

The shortest CSP shifter is 275mm, about 11". Still a bit high. I cut my Vintagespeed shifter down to 10" to the top of the knob. Feels just right with the speedster seats.

My Nardi is just a bit over 14", I call it 14 1/8". That works out to 360mm, which is the perfect size in a Spyder. Kind of like the porridge, not too big, not too small.

I have a 14 like Danny. Nice as far as room goes, but its sits right in front of the gauges. The 15.5 will alow you to see your gauges better. So there is always a trade off.

the 15.5 came out of my older speedie and no problems there. im guessing that my new seats (geezer style) are much thicker and i sit higher and that is why my leg is hitting wheel sometimes.
i'm likely to do a trade for a 14 from another member that wants the bigger wheel.

We've had a 13" nardi, a 14" leather and a 15" nardi in the spyder (roughly sized, they were actually millimeters). The 15 was way too big, the 13" is perfect for Steve but I hate it. The 14 was leather and we wanted the wood look. So the car has a 13" on it.

One thing to consider. As you move to a smaller wheel, you "quicken" the steering response. Bigger wheels, make the steering slower. It's a matter of movement. With a big wheel, you might be moving 3" to get 5 degrees move movement, but the smaller one may only be 2" so it feels quicker. A big wheel gives more leverage (moot point on spyder) and may make the vehicle feel a little more settled at speed.

The 13" blocks part of the guages even for me in the spyder.

solved the too big nardi wheel problem. Traded straight across for a 14" with a guy from NY and now my leg doesnt hit wheel anymore. i wasnt looking forward to paying $300+ for a new wheel anf trying to sell the old one. now maybe i can rationalize about buying the CIP1 shifter.

Does it block the gauge RPM MPH ??

the mph is fine but it does block rpm at 12oclock, the tradeoff is that i dont have the shifter hitting my leg especially from 3rd to 2nd shifts.
