Ok, i bought one of those adjustble "puma" front beams..
So that would do it..
I have to say ive been dreaming of building my own speedster for 15 years, when i saw your red one i went the next day and bought a shortend chassie and a spare car to start with..

I hasvent seen any more good looking than yours..

Thank you for the info...
The front beam in my car had three inches cut from each side. The steering box was going away anyhow. Three inches seems to be the most you can remove before you start to cut the bearings themselves, and there's a bit of drilling to be done for the grub bolts to go back in. You have to cut the spring blades down, reinsert them and then use a dye grinder to make new sockets for the bolts. Took about a day -- and I didn't do the grunt work. Can be done, though.
The two-inch CB drop spindles put the front end of the body at less than three inches from the ground.
