He's tried it with my trans on other cars and it rips them apart in 6 months. Too much torque. The new trans is beefier and is geared taller for the Suby.

Is he using something other than a beefed and longer geared (3.44 r&p?) type 1 transaxle for your car?

I, for one, would like to know details...

So what more/different is being done here?

Probably a Rhino (heavier Brazilian oem) case?

And finally- someone who thinks like me!!!

PS- Maybe with a long 1st/short 2nd mainshaft and gears? And don't forget I mentioned the 3.44 earlier....

Y'all might want to back off and understand this. Tom is just being a bit coy.

He'll have new running gear and it will be very nice and well suited to the purpose.  I know what he had in his old tranny even if he didn't.  I was going to make an offer to buy it and thru info that Carey and I shared / last chat with Tom, it's just not going to happen.

If Tom finds a convenient / safe way to DRIVE   to Carlisle this year....and I hope he does....ask him to show you the setup and ask Carey for the details.

Nice to see rancho using my axles.  They are 4340 chromoly forged and heat treated here in the USA.
