Yesterday, April 23, 2022, I attended the annual Eurofest Auto show in Natchez on the Mississippi River. It's a 100 mile drive down the Natchez Trace. There were about 150 classic cars in attendance, for a 1 day show, from as far away as Tennessee, Texas, Georgia and North Carolina; along with more local folks from Mississippi and Louisiana. The feature mark was Rolls Royce. Didn't count them but I'd guess there were at least 20.

In attendance were nine 356's all beautifully restored.

I left at 6:30 a.m. was home by 5. Beautiful weather.IMG_20220423_133337004IMG_20220423_133354543IMG_20220423_133329906IMG_20220423_133419733IMG_20220423_133438313IMG_20220423_133400983

I was registered for the show but didn't pick up my credentials. This ain't Pebble Beach. Been doing this a long time and tired of all the BS; folks new to the hobby polishing their cars that arrived on trailers; so forth and so on. I may rinse mine off the day before but that's all 'cause I'm going to drive. I can walk a show in a couple of hours and be ready to go. An all day commitment has gotten to be more than I want. I'm a slow learner so I'll do it again.

Sorry my phone photos were not better...I'm about done with that too.

I'm continually amazed at the number of people at any show (especially with cars that have patina; for most of them, let's face it, it's a rust bucket!) that put so much importance in the cleaning and prep, as the show is the main objective and they've forgotten what cars are about.  When asked how much they drive or the last place they went just to drive all you get is a blank stare.  Trophies are more important to them than the joy of rolling down the highway.
