Erik,

How's the car runnin'? I watched it come to life, soup to nuts, while John was finish my car.

My wife and I both grew up in the Fremont/Union City area. You and Dale must outclass everything else on the road out there! It's been more than 25 years since cruising was banned on Fremont Blvd. Any new hot-spots crop up recently?

MM

You do not have to attend both days, Saturday or Sunday. I was there two days last year and the only thing that made Sunday better, was simply the awards ceremony.

The car count I think was actually higher on Saturday. If you want to compete with a chance to win, it is better if you are there two days, but not a big deal.

Some neat cars. Lots of handmade cars and one off home built jobs too.

If we don't get a big Speedster turnout, I might just have to sell my car and buy a COBRAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Mike - I don't have too many miles on it yet (just had a baby
so my joy riding time has been cut down a little) but the miles
I have put on have been great! The car is running well and I can
hardly wait til it's broken in :)

Yep, there are a handful of good looking speedsters in my
neighborhood and Dale's is definitely one of them. I'm new
to the Fremont area so I haven't found the hot spots yet.

Patrick - Thanks for the info. I'm going to try and make it one
of the days, but we'll see.
The 22nd Handcrafted Automobile Concourse at the San Leandro Marina in San Leandro California.

Fun Show. Nice people.

Go to www.nckcc.com for info

or email: nckcc@astound.net

I went last year and had a great time. Lots of Bench racing and fishing stories. There were too many Cobras last year, so lets bring up the numbers this year.

Patrick-
Erik & Troy - if you get a few minutes on Sat, head over to the Niles district of Fremont (south on Alvarado Niles rd from Decoto) Theyre expecting a couple hundred cars for their annual Hot August Niles show. Look for the NCKCC group close to the registration table. 9am- 3pm.
Talked to John at JPS today and he will be there. He said he is flying in but expects that there will be about six of his cars there.

If you have never met John, I suggest you go and talk to him if you are interested in a new JPS car. He is a nice guy and very easy to talk to. He also has a great product. Only look at my car too since it will be for sale at the show.

P-
Kitchen Pass;
Issued to the person normally responsible for Kitchen Duties or otherwise chore related endeavours.
Allows bearer of kitchen pass to forego assigned duties to pursue the finer things in life.
A limited number of kitchen passes are available each year. To be used sparingly and wisely.

Brian.
Brian,

OK, slow on the pickup here. Have fun at the air races. Never saw them in person but love those old warbirds at full throttle. Does anyone run any P-38's? I imagine they don't turn too well on a tight course. A few years ago in Illinois they had a flyin of warbirds, everything from DC-3's to a British fighter, think it was a Sea Fury or something close to that. That was pretty impressive. Most common bird was the Mustang of which they had about 5. Even a P-40 that was really a crowd pleaser.

Bruce
Bruce,
Funny that you mention P-38's. My Grandfather, Ernest K. Osher, was a P-38 'Ace' over North Africa. The plane has always had spot number one in my heart.
'Lefty' Gardner raced a P-38 at Reno years ago and did intermission shows as well, one helluva pilot.
There were no twins racing until the last couple of years when Mike Brown brought his Grumman Tigercat(very cool looking)to Reno. He will be there this year (he race preps his plane practically in my backyard).

To the Group,
If you can make it to Reno for the Air races, you will only be dissapointed by the parking areas (mostly dirt/hay fields) Not speedster friendly. The rest is pure Horsepower, curves, exhaust notes, and aviation fuel. NASCAR on steroids.

I'll post a couple of pics when I get back.

Brian.
Hi Brian; This oldman grewup in sacramento, being a native,I learned to swim at the old sloughhouse bridge. I was about four, I drive up into the foothills quite a bit. It was also my long way home from work, I retired from SMUD.I worked up the hill at freashpond. I took alot of ways home just to break up the sameness. I would be glad to hook up for run through the hills. So many places so close. Fiddletown, volcano, mount alkum, somerset. all great drives. I know a way from from Kybers back to 88 its a very twisty road but paved you come out just below cappels lake, or go to slypark. Looking forward to meeting all of you if you make it to San Leandro.
NCKCC has requested that we pre-register, however they will allow you to do so Sat am. As of yesterday am, well, lets just say NCKCC is wondering where we all are.........
Note to John Leader & Bruce Williams - maybe we need to supply 'J Ward Hood decorations' as an attempt to draw some interest?
See Patricks post above for the form & info.
Ray, Gary, Brian, I was thinking about getting to the NCKCC about 0900 and would love to drive down with anyone that wants to make the trip. I am in Dixon and can meet anywhere west of their in the morning. Brian, tell the wife you're going to get groceries and meet us for the drive down, we'll never tell. I'm also planning on being at Bug O Rama real early the following week if anyone wants driving company. Let me know and "let's roll!"
What is everyone planning on for Saturday night. I saw there is a banquet at the Marina Hotel, not much info. on the reg. form.

Any alternatives? Jack London Square is only a stones throw, or the Penninsula?

I'll be staying in Union City/Fremont.

Thoughts, re-buffs, limericks?
