Real ones will run $1k+. Did you check on repros - $600 or so.
I meant to add - or pick up used repros and send them off to have new 914 innards added. Price will most likely be same range but will be reliable.
I think the gauges that the turnkeyers use are all so-so. For a better guage set use someone like North Hollywood Speedometer. I was just talking to them the other day about a gauge set and I think I remember him saying $1200.00 bucks for VDO plus another $75.00 to run the odometer up to where it's supposed to be.
Anything you want them to be.
For instance, one of mine lights when I have the e-brake engaged, and another one is in parallel with the oil pressure sender light ( in the tach) so when the oil pressure drops, lights come on all over the place!

Keith:
Do get those pictures, as the CMC gauge set was not necessarily a 356-looking gauge set. Usually they were so-called "classic" gauges which do look cool (especially the white faced versions) but don't look "Porsche" at all.

You'll need their sending units too - they don't work with std VDO senders. They are a larger diameter than most other gauges too. They came in several designs - none matching 356 gauges. They had white and black faces and "chrome" or "brass" bezels --- maybe black bezels too.
