Some duffus in a Mercedes ran into the back of me while he was yacking on his cell phone. Subidoo is in the shop for minor fiberglass repair but I need to supply a new "look-up" license plate holder assembly. None of the glass is broken but the chrome housing is bent and needs replacing. I know NLA, Klasse356 and Stoddard has them but at Porsche prices. Anyone got an extra one laying around or even just the housing? Oh ya, duffus didn't want to have his insurance cover the accident because of a prior claim still being open so he said he'd cover the repairs (dam I hope so) and gave me his phone number and address. Just to be on the side of precaution I made out a police repair and sent it off to cover my a$$ in case he claims I backed into him.

Well my faith in man kind has been renewed. I'll no longer refer to the man that hit me as a duffus, he called, we met and he handed me a check to cover the repairs. Turns out he also is a Vietnam Vet and has so much on his plate I really felt bad taking the check. Long story short, car will be fixed, repairs will be paid and I'll see you all next year in Carlisle.

PS: I still need that "look-up" light assembly.

I hope I described the item I need correctly. It is NOT the license plate holder but is the assembly that has the license plate lights that look up. Actually I only need the chrome housing and not the glass or light bulb assembly. I will take the whole assembly and use the parts I need. I did locate the assembly at 5 different dealers but the prices would feed a family of 4 for a month. Let me know what you can come up with, I will try to stay in touch but will out on the road for 3 weeks and not sure I will have internet access at my over night stops.
