I know this a 356 type site. Good news is I do have a D replica.
But Im have trouble finding a factory 72 super beetle window crank handle,
This car is turning out to be a concourse quality bug. Not much is wrong with the car, even a nice set of factory pans.
A redo of the under coating and fresh Marina Blue paint job are going to put it pretty close to flawless. I have all new interior to go in it.

But there is always one little quirk. It never fails I have one crank handle that is not a match.

I want a orignal black vw crank handle. HELP!!!!

Thanks for your replys .

First off not all crank handles are created equaly. You have the aftermarket pot metal one that break rather easy .

The one I need will have a double steel rod up to the knob fron the base of the crank.

The cover will be black with a vinal crinkle, and the knob will have the beehive type face.

It was the common one for several years. But i need it for a 72 super.

PLEASE, look at your spare parts and see. I will gladly give you $20 for it maybe more if I have to.
I checked my stash I have one with the double steel rods running from a hoop around the splined base up to the metal disk at the knob end. The cover is textured rubber/vynal and the top of the knob has five concentric groves and four concentric raised bands not counting the center section and outer edge.

Is this the bad boy that you're looking for? If it is you can have it for the five finger forum discount. Just email me your address and I send two, just in case you lose one again.

Hope it helps,

TC
I just got the car last month .

How can I lose, what I never had ? Oui!!

I sent you a email to strike up a deal by. Thank You Sir!!!

That do sound like the right critter. I will have to make another donation soon to stay in good standing here.

Thanks Again TC

If Glenn wants the spare to use to model, to make exact replica' s he is welcome to it. he can return it when he's finished .

I don't beleive anyone is making a decent copy of that part.
The hood is the same story, but I got lucky with that part.
I wish to thank you gentlemen for your help.
Now it's a race to see which car gets to replace my Geo Tracker first.
I know it sounds like Im going backwards, but I'd rather drive a autostick bug or a automatic D any day. even if they don't have AC. But when it cost $1,000 dollars to maintain the AOD 2 emissions and where is alway the chance it will mess up again.

It and I have to part company.

It time to get back to what I luv and know best.VWs
I will make it a fair deal, But It will be as is,
The shame is it's right nice. To bad Gm can,t get their act together and build solid bullet proof emisson systems that hold up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
