I have a Vintage Speedster and need to replace the bow that secures the top to the windscreen. Does anyone know who makes convertible tops for replicas where I might buy one of these parts? I asked a few local shops about making one, but the prices were way too high.

I bought the header bow and Haartz top from VS for my old CMC. You can get the header bow with ($150) or without the clips/clamps installed. The CMC one was laminated fiberglass which warped/laminated over time. The VS one fit perfectly and is like a black butyl plastic material.
The other Vintage Speedster Parts place (not VS motors) - has them for $85 too.

Funny you should mention the problem with your fiberglass bow. That is exactly what has happened to mine. It was always too tight a fit and had to be beaten on to the windscreen. But now it has warped into a arc that is no longer even close to the proper shape. Who would have thought that fiberglass could "warp."

As in the builder. They are known for good support - as long as you aren't trying to reach them via email. Use the phone. When you buy from the builder you know it will fit.
I used VS the builder one - very nice out of box fit on a CMC. Plus it won't delam.

I have the Vintage SPEEDSTER one on my car and it fits well. It's got a notch for around the windshield center support rod. Lines right up and fits great... all 4 times I've had the top up!
Kirk at VS has a 3rd center latch option available, it's a knob swing latch set up that attaches to the mirror rod, you have to use the VS style mirror rod for it to work ( a simple washer eliminated the scrape mark on the header bow) both are about $30 and well worth it.
Looks great! Does any one know if the chrome side curtain pockets offered from Stoddard or Sierra Madre will work with Beck curtains?

Probably not - besides, the original side curtain sockets on the front of the doors are elongated a bit (like a long oval), unlike the replica round versions. Best to get some from Beck.
