Outlaw chassis: I went to install new Type 1 CV axles and they are a bit too long... .....I need a measurement from center inside stub axle flange to center inside transmission flange.

@Alan Merklin Do you still need this dimension? Pearl's up on the lift and I can get the measurement for you tomorrow morning if you still need it.

Yes , if you have the axle in you can just measure from the outer lip on the trans flange cup to same on the stub axle. Thanks ~
OK - I’ll get it by mid-morning. I’ll try to get both unloaded (wheels off the ground) and loaded measurements for you.
I also have a spare pair of Raxles that I can measure out of the car, too, to get you both, just to be confusing. 😉. Should be able to get compressed and extended measurements, that should cover a ‘69 - ‘79 Beetle.
Let me know if you need more info - I have a stock spare axle out on the bench from a T-1 69-79 Beetle. The axle length is axle only, with CVJ's compressed enough to see the end of the shaft. Eyeballed it, but is +/- 1/16"

@Gordon Nichols, he has those. He wanted the measurement in the car of the cv flange to cv flange. He is trying to see how much they narrowed the control arms on the Medeola suspension.
Edit: My bad Gordon, I missed the dimensions at the bottom. Duh.
Thanks for the inside cup measurement ~
