Need bumpers: front and rear!

Hey Gang,

Now for the extra things.

Does anyone have a pair of bumpers for sale? I was thinking of fashioning some small over riders into bump bars/push bars like they had on the early cars running speed trials on the dry lakes, but my wife say Doc Hollywood AGAIN on TV and likes the full bumpered look.

I agree, they ARE perfect, I wanted something different, but gave in, as usual. I could find them new, but thought that I might check here first.

So . . . anyone with bumpers for sale, let me know. If they're a pain to box and ship, let me know the dimensions and I can ship you an empty box to just slide them into and send off to me.

I have a full set from a CMC but....not sure if I will need them until I pick up another speedster project on the 30th in NY and see what is with it...

If you don't find them prior to the 30th or so, I'll let you know

I may have a pair, too (CMC glass bumpers), but I won't have a chance to look for them between RI and Mass. until after Carlisle. Not sure if I got rid of them when we moved down here, but more than willing to look around for them........I had some trim, too, but can't remember if it was for the bumpers or was rocker panel trim....I'll look for that, too.

Thanks Guys! I can wait until next month, no problem. No problem at all, really, the car is still having the brakes done at another shop. I've just run out of interior details to take care of and now it's time to begin getting the exterior trim/components/etc.

First up, BUMPERS! So, please get in touch here or through emails, whenever you can/decide/find re: the bumpers.

Gordon, please look around for me, I could use the rocker trim as well if you're not using it. I sort of wanted to hook up with you on something else as well since you're so close to me.

I'm going to splash a fiberglass roof clip from my Pre A, which I want to alter to fit the Speedster body contours. With louvers instead of a rear window and filled/NACA duct side windows I thought that it would make an awsome LeMans style coupe if it were re-countoured to fit the chopped windshield of a Speedster.

Once I finish fashioning the basic roof, would you be up for letting me place place it on your Speedster to mark it up for final fitting? If it works out as nice I as I think, I'll make you one of your own for your trouble. It won't cause any damage and probably just fasten at the windshield, door jams, and trunk lip. Should look as tough as h*ll when in place!!

Something for later this Summer/early Fall . . .

Sure, you can test fit to mine - remember that it's a CMC flared body - don't know if that makes a difference.

Pretty sure if they're around they're here in Tiverton, but I'll get to looking for them after this week.

RE: roof clip.

The wide body is the one that the roof would look best on. Those fat little fenders and a tubby top. Almost like a vintage Crossfire if you can picture it. All of the attitude, but with every edge rounded off.

If you REALLY REALLY need the bumpers, we can do your box suggestion, if you make it REALLY REALLY EZ for me to ship cross country. Didn't mean to be a flake but just don't have the patience for stuff like that. I remember selling wheels & tires to a great member here before that lives back East. I just packed them & he arranged for everything else, including pick up. I guess I just hate to stand in line for anything....(O:
However, I will lend a hand to a SOC member regardless.
