Hey guys! I've looked and talked to nearly everyone I can think of for Baby Dell rebuild kits. It seems that every supplier and VW speed shop I talk to have them on back order and they don't know for sure when they are going to show up. Does anyone know a supplier that can help and/or have them in stock? thanks Mike

Hey thanks to everyone for their advice and help! I'm getting very impatient waiting for the Dellorto rebuild kits to come in so I think I'm going to put them on e-bay and/or the Samba.com and sell them. Their in excellent condition with short aluminum intakes manifolds, hex bar linkage, and oval aluminum breathers. They have already been cleaned and prept for rebuild. They really are in exceptional condition, they just need rebuild kits! If any one is interested let me know! thanks Mike
Bill, The Dellorto carb kits came from www.dellorto.com. Real nice helpful people! I think their based in the United Kingdom. The cost was a little over $100.00 shipped to my door. Yeh...that really is a little strong on price but I could not get them anywhere else. I had been waiting for CB Performance and many other suppliers to get them in for months at a much cheaper price with no luck....so I bit the bullit and gave in and payed the price. I'm glad I did it now. It's over......and the car runs great! Mike
I just rebuilt my Dell 40's on Friday. Remembering this thread and Michael's results, I'd like to throw in an additional YeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaaah! I can't believe the difference and smoothness the car has now. I only wish I'd have done it months ago. Carbs always intiminated me, but after attending Henry Reisner's carb seminar at Carlisle, I went for the Gusto. Thanx! Henry for the inspiration.
I also retired my ages old Uni-syn for the "snail" synchronizer.
I must say everything heard here is spot on. This thing is much more accurate and it doesn't "choke" the cylinder like the Uni-syn did. You can leave it on the carb for as long as you are adjusting. Worked great setting an air corrector valve.
