The Baby blue was actually one of the colours that I was looking at becuase of the fact it just LOOKS classy and has a nice vintage flair to it. Every other speedster and his brother over here are either red/ white/ silver or black, no-one's prepared to try something different.
I ended up going with the Porsche Ivory..........also a very classy vintage looking colour, that would look wrong on any other car, but on a speedy...........it just works. Do what looks good to you. You're the one afterall who has to drive it.
Good luck.

Sue!!
The TYP356 club in New England will be at the Wooden Boat museum held at the Meredith Town Docks on July 26'th (check www.typ356.com web site for details).
I heard there'll be 16 - 20 real 356's there and a couple of replicas (maybe even mine!!)

John,
Carey offers a "Merlot" paint, but it is now an extra cost upgrade on the color charts. Mine really turns heads and I don't look at the color as being a "Red"...instead a very nice choice of an excellent wine and of course a whiskey tan interior with matching top and tonneau. (Macallans or Aberlour from Scotland)

Thanks Gordon, for the heads-up on the 356 event! I've been watching that site as well for events to go to. Unfortunately.... work, work, work gets in the way and I'll be winging my way to far off lands from now till well into August. Little sympathy from most folks when they know where I fly to but my husband is on vacation and is out driving Speedy without me! I was thinking of taking the key off the battery kill switch! ;) Just kidding! If only I could match those powerball numbers....
Wow Aaron... that is one beautiful car! The color is, as you said, a very FINE Merlot! Nice!!!
Thanks, Susan,
Carey and the mechanics at Special Edition, home of the Beck Speedster and Spyder did a great job on this car. The bad news is that the color "Merlot" has become an added cost item. Carey told me that the color is very difficult to apply on to the car. I'll be doing a photo shot for Carey so that the added accessories can be showcased on their web site.

Merlot, an old Porsche color? Hargerty's last magazine had a photo of a Porsche Continental. Yes, it was called a Continental until Ford made a stink! The paint color was called Turkish Red. I'll add photo later.
..just as a model reference, here is a pic of a P-car Continental that usually shows up at the local 356 events.
