My Speedster came with wide 15" rims...very wide...10.5" wide in the front and back. The tires are Yokohama AVS 285/40R15, which were used on the DiTomaso Panteras.

Anyway, they're starting to get dry rotted. I need replacements, but I can't find anything as wide, or low profile, in a 15" that's also 25" or less in diameter.

I'm really not all that thrilled with the idea of buying new wheels in order to fit new tires.

Thoughts? Advice?

Or google Discount Tire. If those two don't have the size, chances are they probably don't make it any more. Very few choices in smaller size tires these days. Especially in performance tires.

On a parallel note, I drove a Corvair (13 inch wheels) for over twenty years. At some point I swapped some NOS parts for larger wheels because there were NO performance 13 inch tires available in North America. Maybe you have to bite the bullet?
Look into the Mickey Thompson Sportsman series, they may have something in a comparable size to what you need. If you can be a little flexible and run a drag radial, BF Goodrich offers a g-Force T/A Drag Radial in 275/50R15. It's a street legal tire, but a softer compound than most.
