Norris, the one you show MAY have muffler clearance problems with the body on your car.

If you have drum brakes on the rear, this would work for a 1600 CMC/IM nicely, and it won't break the bank. I think they have a ceramic coated version as well. I use one on my CMC and am happy with it.

My hideaway muffler is smaller and both the input and exit pipes enter from the rear of the car. Mine fan out to dual exhaust through the bumper risers, but a single exit would be equally doable. There's a flange that allows me to pull down the rear part if the exhaust so that I can get at the right side valves. Not sure the brand that Csrey used but it's chrome and shiny :)
Nope, can't do a rear center exit with a hidaway. The collector of the header is in the way(it points rearward)....ask me how I know.

But you CAN get a "nearly center" exit. So I'm happy with that for now.
I plan to get a Magneflow with inlet/outlet on one end later on.

Also if you have rear disc brakes w/e-brake, there is a clearance issue with the caliper e-brake spring and the muffler outlet pipe, which exits from the front side of the muffler. Rear drum brakes pose no problem.
The remedy for the clearance issue is to use a muffler like Tom has, with inlet and outlet on the same end(rear).
