I'm getting ready to bring my car in for NY inspection. This is the first inspection to get a valid NY VIN number so I need to go by "the rules". So I need to temporarily change the clear directional lenses to amber & add sun visors. Anyone have a set they can lend me for a few days. I'll glady pay shipping both ways.

-I think the clip on type visor will be OK. I may have to add some padding for it to be legal.
- Not sure about just using amber lights instead of changing the lenses. The DMV checklist calls for amber lenses. Anyone in NY run into this during their inspection. This is a new VIN inspection, not just the yearly safety inspection.
Jeff - search my site - i have a clip on visor setup that i used for this exact purpose. i fabricated / painted it to fit. pretty slick (i might add) for something i never intended to use.

it works fine, but gets in my way when driving. I used new ghia visors (pre 64, so they look period correct). you pay shipping both ways - you can borrow - but you have to give it back. :)
I think the amber bulbs will work. At least I'm going to give it a try.

Mango - thanks for the offer but I just picked up an old clip on style visor that I'll pad & try to pass off.

Getting the car weighed Friday, then the paperwork goes off to Albany. After that it's a waiting game for them to give me an inspection date.
