It slips more and more when I am going up a hill. Its time....

Which one?: http://www.cip1.ca/searchresults.asp?cat=1468

I've never changed a clutch before, then I need to think how to raise the car 20" to drop the engine. I am looking forward to this and was hoping that this would be a winter project but the slipping is getting worse and fall driving (color) season is upon us....

Mike, do a complete clutch replacement, disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing. Your engine size will be the factor that determines if you go stock or with a Kennedy 1700lb or 2000lb. While you are in there be sure to put some grease in the pilot bearing and on your starter bushing. You should get the flywheel machined smooth and put in a new rear seal, on the engine and trans. What year is your transmission? The throwout bearing and clutch vary with different year trans. On later trans. there is a tube that the throwout bearing rides on. Give me more info on engine power and trans. year.
The car is rather loud, so I do tend to launch start.

The motor is dual carb, dual manifold 1600 or 1641. Slips in 3rd and 4th when I push in those gears. This started about 1 month ago and obviously not getting any better.

With the engine out I will also take some care doing some mods... I have done quite a bit to this car engine wise, body wise including completely dismantling the car when I got it so that it could go to a body shop.
