FWIW, you DID post a thread titled "Need to know more" in the Newbie section, and then pretty much disregarded everybody's advice.
It would still be a good idea to find out just what you've got back there before proceeding onto the next thing.
Is there any way for me to identify what year my car was built? I cannot see anything of importance on the CMC label on the inside of the drivers door. It says under the identification number S1825.
Unfortunetly, Probably not.
That number on the door label is actually the CMC order number that someone originally ordered it to, and it also seems that those numbers were given out semi-randomly (believe it or not) so, without talking with the builder or getting access to CMC's records (which I doubt is possible) there really isn't much chance of finding out.

Give Brad of MG Magic in Florida a call as he has most of the CMC speedster stuff ( all the old stock w/ price lists ) and he knows much of the history on the cars. He may be able to provide info on yours - he knew some history on mine. Nice guy w/ lots of CMC history and parts for your car. Well just for reference, my CMC was delivered in 1984 with has the number S1587. Not sure how much later yours would have been manufactured. Good luck!
