What a gorgeous car! Ever since seeing Vince's I've fallen in love with Ghias, particularly the low lights.
I saw another black beauty behind it in one of the pics, Bill. Are those Dells still singing that wonderful tune?

I wish I would have gotten more of the orange Ghia in the picture to show how they changed the fenders. Makes one wonder why they ever made that change.

WOW Bill, sure puts mine to shame...that ghia is about as good as they get. Mine will never look that good as long as I own it....

I dunno but the pic of the car you bought looks none to shabby. Kinda like that color better. That black car had '56 plates on it. Don't know if it was a 56 though.
1st year convert is 58, so it is either a 58 or 59.....60 was not a low light...
My body is straight, interior and top new but my motor is not correct, fact is I just added dual webers to the 1600 motor, correct motor is 36 HP 1200 or so....Mine is 12 Volts and ragged in comparison to that beauty in the pictures....
restoring to original is very expensive, I prefer to have a cool driver, it should still hold its value if I decide to sell....
The one in the pictures must be in excess of 30 LARGE easy....
check out the red 59 lowlight on thesamba.com for 35K and then tell me what you think the vert is worth..

The lastes issue of Hemming's Sports and Exotic Cars has the final in a multipart series on the restoration of a '56 Ghia. OMG that is a beautiful car! That color (and icy silver blue with dark blue top) is perfect for the car.
I LOVE that Ghia ! ! ! ! Sweet deal, it's going to be an absolute ball to tour around in, just be prepared for the traffic closing up to look at it when you're trying to pull out of a side street.
And remember to smile, despite the frustration. You're now part of a long and proud tradition !

Coker are average with firestone being closest tot he OEM as far as tread, size, etc. but they aint cheap. $750 for a set is what one guy (username: thom) paid for his.

we have an expensive hobby, when I had the speedster I couldn't see spending the money for WWW when my current tires were good, but at least now I have an excuse to justify spending the money for new tires.....MINE ARE REALLY BALD...
