I'll take a stab. It's a mistake.
looks like a coupe cut down to a roadster.

That, um, "car" was at Carlisle this year and is definitely a fiberglass body, but it looked larger in every dimension, and few of the contours were correct. The build quality was, ummm, suspect.

Definitely looks like a cut down coupe.....weird....

Those tail lamps and Pre-A hood handle look genuine, but the size of the body is KILING me . . . it's enormous!
Too bad t's SO expensive . . . neat find!

Here's yet another to make the hair stand up on your neck with a MG top no less!

Actually Alan; it could be worse but I definitely hate that top!!!
Yeah, the MGB windshield just isn't right either. Other than that it's not too awful.

I will never, ever second-guess my aluminum tonneau again.
Anyone have a mop and a handkerchief? I've got a fluid spill here.

...call it a hunch, but I bet somewhere out there is an MG with a Speedy windshield and top!
Hmmm... Now that might look interesting.
Humm an MGB windshield and folding top! I actually like it. My '69 MGC's top actually sealed out the weather and was easy to put up and down. Plus the 3 back windows add to visibility. Last I checked MGB glas was $150 and not $395. I've wanted to try an MG/AH/Triumph top mechanism to see if I could get better sealing at the sides where it meets the side curtains. BUT, whoopie, a rebuild 1300 cc engine --- must be the gas saving model.

I bet'cha TC would build a mid-engined, Type IV-powered MGB with a Speedie top and a Ghia nose if someone dared him. ...

Maybe . . .
But I DO have a question for all, in general, involving something a bit less radical, with Cory written all over it.
I was recently contacted by one of the gang regarding borrowing my wide body flares to duplicate/ splash molds from. I was reluctant to let them out of my hands, but hooked him up with my buddy who works for a shop making GT40 and Cobra bodies. (He also does custom work on the side and has a line of VW related fiberglass items for sale.)
Anyway, I delivered the flares to him this past weekend. He's going to make molds for the guy so the he can make his own flares. Best to have the molds rather than a set of flares just in case of an accident. We got to talking and all; I was wondering if anyone was interested in a fiberglass coupe roof section, with decklid, to convert an extra/crashed/spare Speedster into an Outlaw Coupe?
Granted, it would be a REAL monster, probably have to have plexi side windows or filled/louvered panels, and would most likely use the Speedster windshield and side curtains . . . maybe even get a spare set of wide flares for it as well.
Any interest at all? I have a '55 and a '65 coupe for him to take the mold from, and the plexi side windows or panel patterns could be traced from my quarter glass, as could the plexi rear window.
Just wondering . . .

I'd love to be the guinea pig for CMC owners. You going to be home in mid-to-late September? From the 15th through the 19th?
That's my projected Hoopty shakedown weekend anyway; Friday morning from 7:01 until Tuesday morning at 6:59 I can be on the road.
I am planning on being in Easton by that Saturday afternoon. You wanna get together?
