Yes, did the same on my car last year and easy peasy. But now at $1.50 a litre here for premium it'll cost a pretty penny to fill.

Did you have to cut the underside of the hood for clearance?

How is the gas gauge affected. I am wondering if the float can still reach the bottom of the tank.

How much taller is that than the stock tank? The tank in my Beck is mounted kind of high, so I don't know if there would be enough clearance.

Hey take a peace of good card board and make a cover for you brake fluid tank.

Then cover it with carpet that also looks good and helps keep out moisture.

easy install on a VS, used tank as is but had to buy a special gas cap that is thinner. had to cut 3.5" hole in underside of hood, see upper left of pic, cutting hole wasnt difficult but has a pucker factor. my buddy ernie put shaving cream on top of gas cap ...lowered hood and the cream sticks to the area to be cut.
i used the stock sender, reads full at full..at R it took 9 gallons so i figure it has safely 6 gallons left, 20mpgx6 gal = another 120 miles.
when i get bored i will pull stock sending unit out and bend it to get a closer accurate reading.
