That can be changed easily enough, Greg- irs sideplates and differential housing and voila! it's irs.
Didn't TRP need one of these?

He did. And there it is.
Just took a look at the link and for normal street car the 2.06-1.58 spacing is unusually short, and this causes the 4-5 split to be a little longer than optimal. To anyone who may be interested, a 1.48 3rd and 1.12 4th would be better choices with the stock 2.06 2nd. Or change out the mainshaft to 3.78/2.25 (big $$$) and the 1st through 4th spacing works really well (would make great street racer gears!), with the caveat that the 4-5 drop is still slightly longer than the 3-4 split.

Gearset 1 rpm drops get progressively smaller each time you shift to the next gear. This is the way all manufacturers set up gear ratios for production cars, as a bigger drop into 5th (example 2), although it's still shorter than the stock VW 3-4 split, would feel a little awkward.
Since the guy is a trans builder I wonder if he's put it together with the gears he had.
Ha! I have all the parts for mine. I just needed a builder with standard business skills. I have identified a builder. Next up is to get 100lbs of parts to his shop 8 hours away. :/
The 1.58 or 1.48 both work fine and as for which gear depends on two other factors. Customers tire size and if they want a close ratio gear stack or wide ratio gear stack. The 1.58 is a lower ratio but I have had a 1.70 third also which is a lot of fun to drive but you need a motor to match it.
Is that a good deal?
realize what is listed. does it include hand-pack needle bearings [no]
super diffs are junk! unless you bracket race and want the extra support but they are crap. I use to order 20-25 a year and now only offer them when asked.
4:12 with .089 is fine if you have a tall tire. I ran 5 speeds with a 4:12 and it's great but you need a .082 to have a final drive like a 3.88 with a .089. this trans has a 1.22 fourth which is too low for a .082 fifth. Therefore you will be changing the whole gear stack to a 1.48 third, 1.14/1.12 fourth and .082 fifth.
the price does not include axle tubes, boots, axle seals.
you also will need a shifter and berg mounts. that's between 600-1000 depending on what you go with for a shifter
then your either doing the install or paying someone 1500.00 to install it.
