Hi, just joined this forum - my rolling chassis arrives next week (April 2023) and I wanted to make good use of this forum.
What's your best tip for building a kit car? And does anyone have a build-manual I could have a copy of, please?!

So you are getting a chassis. You have the body with it? Who is the vendor?
What power train are you going to install?
If you join this site, you will have access to build manuals and owners manuals for a couple of companies.
To be of help to you, please provide as much information as you can on what you have and what you want to do.
Most use VW power, but some use Subaru, Porsche, Audi, etc. What are you intending to use as your power train? Transmission?
This site will be your best resource.
I have a Speedster build thread and a Coupe (current) build thread on this forum that has some good information and pictures - may or may not help but worth a look.
Panhandle Bob - I'm buying a rolling chassis and the body, complete with all parts, engine etc from Sebring in the UK (https://www.sebringsportscars.com/)
Engine is a basic, VW, 1.6L
LongFella - Thanks!
@SteveMarson, to clarify, if you become a supporting member you can download build . manuals
I'll look at that, thanks.

Well you are located in the right country GLWTbuild. We might have to change this site’s name to SpeedstersOwners and hand built tribute cars!
@SteveMarson Welcome to the kit building madness.
I looked at the Sebring when it was offered by Classic Motor Carriages back in the early 1990's but opted for their Speedster Californian model instead. It took me forever to get it completed (7 years) so somewhere in the middle of that time my wife talked me into a used Auston Healey BN-7 to fix up and drive around while the Speedster was out for paint. It got almost as much attention on the road as my Speedster does.
While I'm not familiar with a Sebring kit and what's needed to build it, I did a LOT of work on the BN-7 and as already mentioned, there are build manuals on here that offer some universal direction on how to build a safe, fun car.
Also, a Hot rod friend pointed me to this thread from someone who has a 3-year jump on you but is also building a Sebring. Maybe you can contact him and compare notes:
If I were building a Big Healy replica I'd go with a straight 6 out of an old Nissan Maxima. Or maybe a righteous (& correct) Healy 2.6. Interesting that the link you post goes to a site promising an "electric skateboard" chassis to fit under either a Healy 100 or Speedster replica. That looks cool!
It is interesting that the website says 0 to 60 is 4.5 seconds. I wonder if that is 60 mph or 60 kph.
It looks to me like Sebring builds speedsters in addition to Healy replicas.
Yes, they are new to the Speedster market.
