Just received photos of my new build from VMC. Speedster Blue. Hopefully I’ll get it in February. Then I’ll be selling my JPS Subie. I’m loading this one up with options.
You guys think Cardinal will look good with this color?

Here's a link to an original car in Aquamarine Blue with red interior that should give you an approximate idea of how your car will look (lots more photos at the link).
I like this, but might go with a darker red. You might want to consider a tan interior, too.
But, as you know, there's only one opinion that matters here.
.
I think red-red looks great, not big on maroon personally.

Didn't you just buy the JPS Subie in August? Wha' happened?
That color looks very close to Oslo blue, which means I love it.
@WNGD yes I did. This one was actually on order when I bought the Subie. The Subie was slightly used with 250 miles on it. I’m now up to 1,100. I’ll probably sell the Subie and should get back what I have into it. $50k. I love the Subie but I got to choose exactly what I want on this one.
@Lane Anderson yes it is close to Oslo Blue. I think it will look a bit darker when it’s polished. Should be a shade darker than Oslo.
Most of my cars have red interiors 😂
The red interior will look awesome. I know what you mean building a car exactly the way you want it. I once bought an Intermeccanica Conv D and spent lots of money and time changing the car to fit my tastes. One of these days I'll be building that Conv D that perfectly matches my tastes. Enjoy the build.
Love the color, Mike. I'm with Mitch, if I was choosing, I'd go with a darker red than the one in the picture.
It's great that delivery is scheduled in just a few months!
Cardinal should be more of a maroon if I recall. I’m optimistic it’s going to look killer.
Here is a snap I took of a car at VMC with an interior that Greg said was cardinal red. It looked great in person.
Sorry Mike that photo above was from earlier this year.
I vote for the cardinal interior. It’ll look great with that color blue. Congrats!
I’m going up to see Greg on Thursday. I currently have chosen a Cardinal interior and am speaking to him about the top and tonneaus. What do you guys think? Black, tan, or burgundy? I’m thinking burgundy but that seems a little risky i.e I may not like it! Certainly not the safe pick.
I’m with you on the burgundy, @MikeM.
I’m thinking a burgundy top might clash a bit with a cardinal red interior. Those two colors are not different enough to compliment each other. What color carpet?
He’s got a point. I was thinking burgundy interior. A black top and carpet would work with that. Oatmeal carpets perhaps even more so.
My current choices are Cardinal interior with black carpet and cloth. I know that would look great, but I am thinking that burgundy cloth would really stand out. I still have time to change the interior color but don’t really want black.
I’m with you, Mike. I’ve always thought black top/tonneau looked weird on any other colored interior than black.
AFAIK, there are 3-4 manufacturers of twill. 2 good ones (Haartz & Happich?)
It might take going through a ton of swatches but I’m sure you could find a color that won’t clash with your leather.
Another option to consider might be blue.
I visited VMC today. My car will look similar to the top photo posted by @dlearl476. I got black carpet, wine interior and top boot, and black top and tonneau.
I snapped a few photos of this absolutely beautiful Dolphin Grey Speedster with hard top. Oooooh, DOCTOR (for you Dodger fans). Green interior.
Ooooooohhhhh......!
Mike...can't wait to see it in person. Cardinal with that blue IMO will be awesome. Adding a 3rd color (tonneau/top) is sometimes risky burgundy when interior is cardinal?) but it's your car so do what speaks to you.
I love that shop and they certainly have my CC number.

I agree. Check out this beauty.

I forgot to add in my original post, but anyone with reasonably decent photoshop skills can make a pretty good idea of what any color combination will look like.
I agree. It’s sometimes problematic when “the carpets don’t match the drapes,” so to speak.

This color is absolutely killer; reminds me of Ford's Grabber Blue.
The oldest millennials turned 40 this year.
GO BOOMERS!,, the Mills are just finding out what we experienced eons ago...
Yeah, forty and still can't drive stick.
I have that "Millenial" shirt, but in black.
Hey Mike - I got a call late last night that mine was ready for viewing, so I stopped work early to make the trek. I assume that’s your chassis in your first photo?
Yeah that’s my chassis.
Nope, just got to sit in it, and Greg fired it up so I could hear the sweet sound. What I saw and heard I loved.
@MikeM hey Mike just seen your other Speedster on BaT Looks Great best of Luck!!
