Jethro, spread some KY jelly and peanut butter on your toast. You'll find it makes everything go a lot smoother.

The claim to fame was it reduces swelling I was in the middle east in the late 80's when it was launched the advert read ... finally you can get PrepH...
Actually, I have no issues with Pfizer they are as all big pharma are a business first, but it worked for the joke. Did you like Hunter Patch Adams the film? I thought Robin Williams was brilliant.
For what it's worth, if he's still reading these posts, I've driven two Speedsters built by Vintage Speedsters after the company was sold and moved to Arizona and they were both a mess. One of them had less than 200 miles on it and I turned down buying it for $23,000. The other was a new build that the owner had to send back to Arizona due to numerous mechanical problems as well as leaks. It still had problems when it was returned and the owner paid a local company another $5,500 to have the issues corrected so he could sell it.
Besides these two cars, I have a big issue with the questionable honesty of advertising that 3,300 Speedsters were built by the Arizona based Vintage Speedsters. They did buy the company, so I guess they are legally allowed to make that claim, but those 3,300 Speedsters were all built by the employees of the company prior to it being sold. They were all fired when it was sold and only a small number of Speedsters were actually built in Arizona.
@majorkahuna posted:There is no established base of customers from Vintage of AZ. All we can report is the business was well run and had a good reputation when it was in Hi. Gardens. In in the process of selling the business a lot of hard working and skilled craftsmen were screwed. That owner move nothing other than the business license to AZ as far as I know the rest was left or sold to Greg. New owners surface with lots of fanfare and promise. I do not know of one car they have delivered. Hence no response to New Member. I think as a group we fulfilled or obligation nicely. If you do not want to wait for a new car buy a used one now. I am always willing to accept offers. I just had angle surgery so I am highly venerable right now. My car is in storage.
I don't believe Greg bought anything from Vintage, he just leased the location from the property owner and then subsequently purchased the property.
This poster seems to have ulterior motives or other Issues. The responses were more than helpful to anyone seeking real advice. This forum has been a godsend for newbies seeking to get into the hobby, as it has been for me.

It is an e-brake set-up. One of our members asked about it a while back and showed us what VS AZ created for him.
I somewhat agree. Some Becks used a lever to reverse clutch motion, some used a single pulley. Either way Beck did it was better than this e-brake setup.
Of course, hydraulic is a little more elegant.

Funny thing that the original poster disappeared into oblivion two days later....

I went the JPS subie route and sold after 4 years. Lots of smiles and thumbs up, but now I drive a Boxster S that fills the need with a bit more comfort , safety and reliability.

Ya, but I still want to know who makes the best Speedster replica.
Marty's feelin' his oats today.
I recently put a deposit on a build with VM, but before that I reached out to VS, and some used Speedster too. VS was really responsive, and seemed really friendly and quick to email me answers to all my questions. However, once he mentioned they require a 50% deposit to START the build I immediately thought that was odd. No $1000 deposit like VM, just straight up “here’s 50% and now I’ll wait for a year or two”. I did a bit more digging on them (mostly on this website) and quickly realized I made the right decision going with VM.
now I just gotta wait another 11-17 months ☹️
^yea, I was told $1000 to hold my spot in line, 50% when the car is ready for paint, and then the balance to pick up the car. Perhaps they have seen a surge in customers since your order. I was told 12-18 months, but more likely closer to the 12 months.
