Just did some trading for a CMC widebody, been in to air-cooled stuff all my life but this is my first replica. The previous owner just finished it and it had 39 miles on it when I got it, was originally built in the early 90s. Just got the Euromiester wheels on it today, they are 17x9 and 17x8 with Porsche drilled rotors and drums. It is running an 1835 for now. I'm going to build a new chassis for it this winter, as I'm not thrilled with the one that is under it, but all in all its a cool little car

I"m in northern Maryland, I build hot rods and custom cars, and dislike the way the pan was done, the car drives great but there are things with the chassis that are not up to my standards, so it will be a fun little winter project building the perfect, much stronger than stock chassis that is dimensionally perfect

If car is titled to the chassis # on pan might be easier to check squareness and reweld.  If welds are good - the pan adds little to chassis strength - the heavy box steel perimeter is what give the body strength - and its probably over engineered except for tail end support (search CMC butt sag).  Floor pans ($200 in parts)are easy to replace if they are rusted through.
