New Engine Case | 356 Speedster, 550 Spyder, Replica, Automotive Community

I am going to have a new engine built for my CMC. It will have dual 40 DIC Webers. I am thinking of going with a 1915cc. Who makes the best after market VW enging case? Several have told me to just use a new stock VW case. Any opinions ????

If money is no object, I'd go with a TF-1 - www.precisionalloy.com/pages/contactus.html.

Otherwise CB Performance makes a nice aluminum case.

From what I've read, just go with a good new VW case or even a good used German one. Don't worry about reinforcing at the #3 cylinder, etc. If the combination of parts is good and all components are good quality, balanced, measured and well put together you will have a long living engine.
