Very well packaged, nothing, I mean nothing is MIG welded. It is very high quality looking stainless steel and polished tips that are mirror like. I am very impressed even if it doesn't fit... well, almost. The flanges have slotted holes, so you have some room to work with if your setup isn't perfectly squared to the car, etc. I am headed up an untravelled path I think. We don't know of anybody who has installed one in a CMC. Vintage Speed makes the tips a good bit lower, as to try to clear the valance/apron. I also picked up one of their speedster shifters too. These people are making some really nice bug stuff. I paid full boat retail, so if I sound a little like Billy Mayes here, it's because I am that impressed with the quality. I think I am into the whole thing with shifter for $600... I will report back when install it. I have some uncobblin' to do from the PO who braised on the dang Monza 16 tip exhaust.....

Not vintage speedster, but vintage speed.. They make very nice bug parts and are now building dyno tuned equal length header kits for all VW's that are older. Bus's, bug's, Ghia's, and now this. I've yet to find anybody online with this on a speedster, so I will need to post pics of it... The flanges are laser or water jet cut pieces and the entire exhaust is stainless and tigged. I think the exhaust system completely ready to bolt in was $460. The tri mill was too loud, vintage Speedster's isn't low enough, and the monza 4 tip is just not a free flowing exhaust. Mines partially clogged.
I got the exhaust on today. I bought the louder of the two versions and I can't tell if it's louder if by much than the 4 tip monza. Sounds fantastic !!! The fit and finish is very very nice. Now, for the not so good news... It will not fit the CMC car I have without making eyebrow notches in the valance, and my car is not a show car... So I manned up and notched. I'm so pleased with it so far!
