I've been lurking here for a couple of months now and finally got my (new to me) speedster. It's an early Intermeccanica built on a VW platform. It's been sitting in my friends carport for 15+ years. after 9 years of asking he finally sold it to me. I plan on striping it to the frame and redoing everything. I normally build streetrods but I've always wanted one of these cars. Thanks to this site I have a very good idea what direction I want to go with this car. Can't wait to get started.

Definitely a nice platform; an IM is the best there is. You'll have fun in the process and it won't be as expensive as hot rods (parts are cheaper). In fact there's a guy in Nampa who is a very well known supplier of VW parts. He advertises on The Samba under the username kekonai. Good luck!
