No bushing change...just greased everything I could get to. Install is dead simple, I found that putting the transmission and shifter in second gear then tightening the two bolts worked well for me. Others have had different gear selections work for them on initial install. The reverse lockout works well.

Tom, seats have to fit your thigh and your torso for the back of your body if you have roadster seats with or without a head rest... then depending on your leg length you may or may not have an issue with the pedals.  If you take all that into consideration you then can figure out if your head will be above the windshield if you have a long body.... hence I can look over a speedster windshield, so I have a roadster and I have recaro's since I need to sit low and have my headrest not be in the back of my shoulders like I did with my original roadster seats. You may want to look at the Vintage Speed shifters.... They will custom cut the lenth to your desired spec  for no charge if you don't like what they have in stock.  You can also ask them to retread shifter shaft to 10mm ( will also be done at no cost) so you can use porsche knobs.

I really like their shifters, and a reverse lock ( pull up to through in reverse) is a nice feature.

Enjoy he projects.... They are the best part of owing these cars.

cheers

These seats should have a little flex, but they should not recline!

Beautiful car!

The Problem

I found that the left and right seat mounting rails are at significantly different angles on the same seat.

The previous owner adjusted for this by putting a large nut on the inside rear mounting bolt of both seats.

The nuts made the seats not lean toward the center of car.

Shouldn’t these rails have the same angle for all four rails?

Is there a problem with the mounting of the rails to the floor?

The fiberglass seats do not have a metal rail attached by the four bolts.

The top of slider is bolted directly to the fiberglass seat using 4 bolts.

Is this by design?

My Solution

On the driver’s seat I added 3/4” block wood on both rear bolts.

On the inside bolt I also added a stack of fender washers to replace the large nut mentioned above.

On the passenger’s seat I added the wood block on the inside rear bolt and a stack of fender washes on both sides.

The passenger’s seat is not quite as erect as the driver’s side.

Tom
