new IM watercooled build

for anyone thats interested to share in my anticipation, my watermeccanica build is coming along well, painted about a month ago, some suspension is now in as well as some leather and carpet. Its going to be driven by an Audi 1.8 Turbo engine. the color is VW mouse gray but in the pictures it doesn't represent it well. its been a long time coming, but then again good things do take time.

it'll have a Derrington style steering wheel

With a 1.8 turbo and for safety's sake, upon completion have Henry ship it to me in PA. I'll certify that it is compatible for use on US roads and you can pick it up at Carlisle 2010. ~Alan

thanks for the compliments guys and Alan, how good of you to think of that for me, anything for the sake of safety huh, LOL. I decided to go with the turbo at the last minute, glad I did, Don't know if you can make out the color of the carpet but oatmeal is too light for me but I like the variation of color in it, so I lookied around and found that Wolfsburg West makes a "honey brown", its kind of like the oatmeal except where theres cream it's grayish brown, nice variations but a little darker than oatmeal and even tan, but not as dark as brown, I think it'll look nice with the exterior color and leather, the leather is distressed thats why it look like it has more sheen than the usual I like that look, too bad it'll be done close to winter time here, OH well I'll just have to make do.

Alan's an expert, but just to be safe you should have it certified over a long drive. Have Henry ship it to Charleston, SC, and I will drive it up to Carlisle, after which Alan can do his thing.

lanne, Yes by all means I wouldn't even consider it without that LONG drive, I mean it DOES have to be certified!!!

What a coincidence. I just got off the phone with Henry and he was telling me that he really liked the body color and how well the distressed leather and stitching looked. He is also very interested in the carpet color. He said he would send some pictures in the next couple of days.

Jane, Very nice. Would it be possible to tell us an approx ballpark figure on what something like this costs to build? I'm guessing you are opting for roll up windows and air?
