Yesterday I swapped my personalized license plate for an antique plate. I never liked "speedy" which it isn't (yet) and thought it was a little too cute. I like the Antique plate plus there will not be an annual charge to re-register the car. A $40 / year savings.

Anybody else got an antique plate on your Speedster?----Jack
I'm not certain how rigidly enforced this law is, but in Tennessee you are only supposed to drive a car with "antique" plates to club events, parades and stuff like that. The law also stated, until recently updated, that the drives could only take place on weekends. Either of these would be no good for me, but since my car is registered as an '04, it's purely achedemic.
Nope...

And some of the reasons that I passed on the Antique plate in BOTH Rhode Island and South Carolina is that use is restricted in those two states (as well as in Mass.) to weekends and going to/from parades and "events". Often, you're also restricted to less than 2000 miles per year (Jack would have to leave his at Carlisle - driving back home would put him over the limit).
Jack,
My Vintage is registered as a '57 so I am running Colorado "Collector Vehicle" plates. Eliminates the need for emisson inspections and the plate is good for 5 years for $100. Also, there are no restrictions of use. A good deal here! I am currently spending 10 days or so in North Carolina but, when I return to Colorado, I will take a picture and post it here.

A-1 Sidewinder, Ceramic Coated. Call Tiger at A-1 Performance in CA. His number is floating around these web pages. I have it at my office. Huge difference in performance and a classy throaty sound. You loose some of the low end back pressure but once the motor starts to rev into higher rmps the headers do their job. This is a pricey upgrade at about $800.00 plus shipping. I have Dansk heater boxes, which are also ceramic, coated. Jack Raby and others also like this system. It adds anywhere from 5 to 10 HP depending on your setup. Lane can chime in and tell you what mods are needed if any to add to a Beck.
