Hi All,

I just became a member because of all the valuable help, and information I have gleaned from this site.  I urge others to help support this site, and at less than$ 1.00 a week it is very reasonable.  Troy has been very helpful, and many of the posts have been a great resource of information prior to my purchase.  I ended up working with Henry from IM and purchasing a vehicle he built in 2003 that has 6,000 miles on it with a 2110cc engine.  He is going through the car for me and is changing the transaxle and installing some new gray leather seats.  Henry, as you all know has been great to work with.  I was wondering if there are any members in Hawaii?

Aloha,

Jim

Thank you for everyone's replies.  The car is now in Henry's shop after being transported from Las Vegas.  It will probably be sometime next month before I receive it.  He sent me some photos and the car appears to be well kept.  For me, living in Hawaii, it provides a lot of peace of mind knowing that the car is being looked after by Henry.  I have never seen the car in person.  Not easy to buy something sight unseen unless you can really trust the person you buying from.  I know I am in good hands.  Thanks again for all the information on this site.

Aloha,

Jim

"Not easy to buy something sight unseen unless you can trust the person you're buying from"...How right you are Jim!

My VS was purchased nearly three years ago, sight unseen, but was gone over with a fine tooth comb by a totally independent, and knowledgeable, third party with references. In fact I never communicated with the seller at all. I wasn't disappointed.

Now the 912e, also bought sight unseen out of Utah, was a different story... many, many Q&A email sessions with the owner... but I finally felt very comfortable because having been born into, and raised in a Mormon community, I was well aware of his high priesthood status within the LDS church. Mormons have a concept of a three-tier heaven. to be eligible for eternity on the third-tier one HAS TO BE squeaky clean, honest and transparent in word and deed. It was apparent to me that this gentleman was aiming for the top floor!...and I wasn't disappointed.

Be wary of dealing with Catholics though, 'cause they can be forgiven anything at their very last moment...that's why they make such good used car salesmen.

The pic I tried to import was that stupid fish symbol that born agains but on the business to try to imply they are somehow good people and will not screw you. I have found the more often i hear a sentence started with the "I am a Christian" the more I know I am about to deal with very dishonest people. True Christians admit to their weaknesses and that is what Christian Redemption is supposed to be about. It is not a badge of honor indicating truth, integrity, etc.

Art,

Thanks for asking, our home is safe but some of the people's homes in the town of Pahoa are in eminent danger. The lava flow is due to hit the first home this evening(10/28) and more to come. This particular flow is very alarming because it is headed for a small town and will probably cut off one of the highways that allow residents living in lower district of Puna to get to Hilo town, which is one of the larger cities on the island. You can keep abreast of what is going on by going to the following website: http://www.bigislandvideonews.com/

Keep us in your prayers...
