new motor getting close to done...finally!

Very cool, Will; I was thinking just this morning I needed to ask you if it was up and running.

That's a nice looking engine, and I'm glad you are making such good progress in getting the issues resolved with your car.  Obviously, this should not have been necessary, but congratulations all the same!

The thrill was installing the clippers and thermostat, putting heat to the thermostat and watching the linkage move from full closed to fully open...and back again as it cooled. No more long, cold warm-ups!

Will, good to see it finally coming together. I guess you're discovering there's real world time and then there's engine build time. It has something to do with Einstein's relativity theories. You're a lot further along than I was at this point.

One thing to note - you may want to remove those protective sleeves, which are there because the heater box hoses pass very close to them. Someone on here - I forget who - left them on and had them melt and start smoking. Apparently, they're not the same stuff muffler shops use.

As a result of that report, we left them off on my car and I haven't had any issues with hose damage. Check with your engine guy and see what he says. I think it depends on what material is used for the heater box hoses.

Will, the motor looks great. Somehow I am drawn to black and silver.  Best fortune with the build.
