Speedster VW Chas. Bought out of RI. 2007 build, not sure who the builder was, looking for help to identify. 99 VW pan etc. possibly Vintage. Runs great, handles great, looks great. Want to do a couple of things to it. Need full toneau mainly. Any suggestions?

Show us a photo of the inside top bumper of the door. Believe it or not, that'll help. Also who the seller was and which town in RI. I'm about a 20 minute ride (on my bicycle) from the state line and know a lot of the replica owners in New England so maybe I can help.
From your Avatar photo, it looks like John Estes' RI roadster but that was an IM with a tube frame, not a pan, so we'll need to have more clues. Post some photos (include the engine) and we'll go from there.

Glad you found this site. Lots of good information here, and friendly people.
If you post some pictures of your car that would be helpful. There are some guys on Here that are very informative and are quite knowledgeable about these cars I’m sure they can help you out. Hope you Enjoy your new purchase!
99 VW pan? Typo maybe --for 1969 which would be swing axle. Unless the chassis is a MX one - where it was still produced until 2003.
The registration says 99 VW, so swing axle. The speedster is not with me right now. I’m having it shipped from Ct. to Florida. Will arrive 1st wk Feb. I’m trying to find out the builder. Info so far, seems to be Vintage. Thanks
I will post pictures after it arrives. Great little car. Runs great, handles great, sounds great, looks great. Very happy so far. Can’t wait to drive down here in the sunshine state
@Don R Roadrunner: Is the car still visible at a web URL where you found it?
