New owner here - I finally found a good one: Beck #89 built in the '90s by John Willhoit with a Porsche 1956 1600S motor and a ton of other goodies including 356B drum brakes, 356 wheels, 356 gauges, fire suppression and more. Driven less than 10k miles in 25 years.
Sorting the details and have a dumb question. Shouldn't this car have a manual prop rod for the rear clamshell? If so, where is it located. Mine seems to have gone missing...

Oh @chines1 (Carey Hines at Beck), here's a neat one for you!
It should have something to prop the clam up. Carey at Beck/Special Edition is your man.
A simple rod solution will work, if you can rig something up.
IF John Wilhoit built it does it have the original rear hinges that are self locking in the up position? If not Bob's suggestion ARod, works well, I have that one as well.
Why the capital "IF"?

Original Spyders didn't have the 356 engine lid hinges.
They did however have a REALLY cool mechanism for the clamshell that Carey Hines at Beck has replicated and sells.
I couldn't find it on their website but I'm pretty sure they have them. I have one on my Vintage Spyder and it is AWESOME!

I painted mine in hammertone silver, which looks period-correct on many Spyder parts, especially the gauge surround IMHO.
@LiveFromNY get the Beck one. It's well-made and looks very much like an original Spyder piece. Since your car has a bunch of Porsche stuff you might want to mod the part a little at the attachment points to make it even more like the real deal:
