Hi everyone,

I've been lurking here for quite a while and posted a "want to buy" ad a while ago.

I finally purchased a Vintage wide body last Friday.

This forum along with the existing info here has been very supportive when I reached out to a few members and I'm looking forward to learn more about the platform in the coming time of my ownership.

Thanks everybody for your welcome notes.

Engine question: We took the car to Vintage speedster and Kirk did a thorough check up on the car, a little vague noise here and there from the engine and we decided to go the whole 9 yard and take the engine out and leave it at Kirk and drop a brand new engine out of box with virtually zero miles in the car. A 2 liter (well 1900 something) engine with double 40s...sorry Rich about the cam question, I just don't know what kind of cam but it works Tires, rear are 255s and front I think 205 but not sure (traveling now so will check when I get back home).

The tear drop trailer and picture stems from the previous owner. A true gentleman and he was very supportive in getting the car "right" for me even after I handed him the money and got the title. He builds those tear drop trailers and sells them as a hobby.

Ted, it was indeed your post that got me on the right track for this car so Thank you! My plan was to go after Troy's wide body if this one would not go through but here I am with a big grin on my face.

I drove the car all the way up to SF bay area where I live and that kindda took care of the break in period with an additional 2 days drive around the bay area. Time to change the oil now!

The car comes with full cover, 2 sets of perfect tonneaus, radio/cd (which I won't use) and a color that keeps growing on me,..it's a deep Bordeaux red with a mix of a tad of deep navy blue in it...pictures don't do it justice. Car was originally build for the previous owner some 7 years ago by Kirk & crew.

Plan to do indeed some sonoma & other fun trips.

Looking forward to all the tips & advise that I can get to make the car & this little community better.

For some reason I cannot upload an image of the engine from disk and it only allows me to add a pic URL here (unlike my thread starter where I did upload from disk). I'll add a pic later.

Regards,

Kamran

Rich, here's a previous post, what's changed with Ipad?  I thought they did not support Flash, thus the upload problems to SOC.  I have been emailing photos from my Ipad to my pc, then attaching the photos from there?
