Ah thanks guys ! not been out in car or on here for a bit due to family stuff  think am gonna make some changes this winter gearbox,engine & steering  any one put a rack & pinyon on beetle beam on here ? thinking of putting a golf one on ????

IIrc there was a guy on the Samba that built rack kits with a Golf unit for a Beetle beam. Try asking in the Performance- Engines/Transmissions forum; I think that's where I saw it. I think he's even on your side of the pond. Al

Dont know whats next flatfourfan mate as projects go  but would love to go to the burning man festival next year  hoping to tie it in with my son going to your  side of pond to do his football coaching ! sorry soccer coaching  & see some mutant cars  looks mad

I suspect that you had to modify (cut back) the front depth of the Beetle roof, but did the 'roof curve' of the Beetle exactly match the top curve of the speedster's windshield?

 

Is there enough space between the windshield and the rear window to accommodate a standard Beetle sunroof?

 

Could you detail the fabrication of the attractive A pillar roof support/side window edging?...Thx, Carl

Ah thanks guys ! ye Rich do enjoy it & also very smooth & comfy ride compared to my other one without air ride  ,Gordon cant drive anywhere with out air ride up a tad haha ! I do get some funny looks when I stop & lower it 

Oliver, can you expand upon what you have going on for your headlights? Are you happy with whatever that is?

Oliver, it looks like you have some form of Xenon headlights (?). Just curious what you have and if you are happy with the illumination.

I think there just normal bulbs Rich & Ive not drove in the dark yet haha beetles are not the best  but if I need extra light Ill dazzle with my spots
