LOVE the Volks Rod, came close to buying one once. I jsut didn't have the money, it was done with the drop axle from Speedway and thought it was too cool!

Oliver- Why are you using lacquer when the base/clear and single stage paints available now will stand up so much better and are just as easy to colour sand and buff?
Oliver are you still doing the weathered look if so I understand the use of laquer,if not mango right base clear would be the way to gobut thats just me

would of been a lot easier thou ,reason behind the lacquer is that the colour paint is metallic & i know its alot more work but am after a nice deep shiny polished finish 
Been folowing for some time now cant wait to see it,take your time painting plus laquer is easier to fix ie runs and touch ups

had a reaction to the paint 
so the roof has been re sanded ,sealed,re high build primer & sanded again but ready to paint AGAIN 
then I suppose the body will have to have the same treatment
but I suppose it will give even more practice hay mmmm

it's soooo tempting to do heavy coats to get the colour on there - but this will flash off the solvent and do what happened above.
