I'm a newbe in here ,but have been reading the forum for quite some time now.
I always wanted to update the design of the old speedster, but found it hard to update such a classic design.

I thought that a retro design best suits an updated speedster replica kit, and wanted to have your opinion and critique on some of my renderings.
The renderings are based on actual images, in case I ever wanted to build a replica of this design.

Please give me your feedback, and thanks in advance

Thanks, Grazie

It does have a porsche boxter design influence, but my sketches are more retro/heritage.
The boxter is a modern Porsche, and a good looking one for that!, mine is a simpler design to manufacture for a replica kit manufacturer, or for the single owner.

I'm trying to feel if there is an interest on an updated design for the speedster.

Keep the feedback coming

Personally, when I look at your design, I see more of a futuristic Spyder then a Speedster. This is why I think people are saying it looks like a Boxter, which was Porsches attempt at a retro 550. I think you should do something to distinguish the front fenders and give the back that famous bubble butt.

Don't get me wrong, I really like your design. But I don't see Speedster. I do see Porsche though, so you are in the right ball park.
Hi,

I pulled one of your renditions into Photoshop and screwed around with it for a while. A few changes made a LOT of difference. In order to better show the heritage that you're going for, you have to round the tops of the headlamps, bring the leading edge of the hood down onto the bumper cover and round the corners, and place some sort of style elements below the headlamps to mimic the signature horn grills on the 356. You also ought to round the body down into the lower valances rather than bringing the valances up to meet the body. Your losing the 'bathtub" by not doing so.

IMHO

Luck!

I think both of your guys have a lot of talent. I like everything I see there (I'm an outlaw person myself, I love different stuff like this). One problem I forsee is that the cost of engineering a new model and making molds is pretty stiff. Most folks can't find sufficient market to recover their costs, let alone a profit. Hence, the absence of original designs like yours in the market place. It's sort of dreams versus busines reality. But I still love it and look forward to seeing your ad in "Kit Car" some day soon.

Anyone remember the Plymouth Pronto concept car from 1998?
