Scene from the stolen copy of Disney's new Pirate's of the Caribbean movie?
Mango. I think your engine lid is on upside down. Wait, now that I think of it, that might be a good strategy for engine cooling!
works like the bees knees. (good)
plus i can really hear my carbs yell at me!
Yo, ho...Yo, Ho.....
Sweet rig there captain!
There's nothing quite like driving one of these in a parade. I find that I fit in better with the Shriners and their clown cars than the hot-rod club in their muscle-cars.
So, you can't tease us without giving us all the details! What size/brand tires and wheels?
Stan, funny analogy but that all changes when you leave the parade and head to a back road
The muscle cars wondering how your little four-cylinder clown car can go around the curves and bend's without Breaking before hand. My buddy had an 82 Mazda Rx7. The Mustangs of the day could never keep up on back road or twisty driving.
No doubt, Mr. Grzynkpwiczklpdcxqnkhlpcz.
Truth told though, I could probably hang pretty tough with most of them in the 1/4, if I were geared for it.
@MangoSmoothie.ca. Those wheels look fantastic.

What a neighborhood! Isn't that Jay Leno in the black jacket and Dale Earnhart Jr. in the lime colored one? Must be.
Me clean, life started that way for me too, but I soon get bored and the import stuff caught my attention. It's too bad, cause it's cheaper to be into domestic.
Are you speaking English, Mr. Alphabet?

I'm not sure what size tires those are but they are Yokohama Avid TRZ tires. Looks like Mr. Mango filled in the lettering as I've only seen them as blackwall tires:
Looks like Mrs. Mango and the Junior Mangoes are having a good time.

Marty G...........one man in search of a few vowels.
i've been thinking about a mild outlaw for a while and have been focusing on building my other ride (matching westy camper with trailer), so i figured the speedy needed a weekend of love.
185-60-15 Yoko TRZ. i used the white-out oil pen to fill in the raised letters. bought it at a craft store. it took quite a while to do all 4 tires. you basically push the tip of the pen down and a small amount of while oil-based paint plops out. so you can only really do the letters that have a small lip to hold the paint.
For the wheels - i painted them with that peel off vinyl paint stuff. used 2.5 cans and did three coats /wheel. i decided not the fully commit to painting them with automotive paint. my wife hates the wheels. i think that makes me like them more. LOL.
for the deck lid - i undid the hinges on the actual deck lid and put in 1.25" spacer on the front and an angled one on the rear of each side. easy and pushes the air down the carbs like nobodies business.
So your lid is permanently tilted up in front? Interesting! Have you considered adding powered actuators to raise and lower it? I would imagine that having your lid act as an air scoop would have a significant impact on engine cooling.
yes - permanently until i take off the spacers. i have considered doing actuators, but this was literally aluminum tube i already had - that i cut.
in terms of cooling - oh ya. and performance: cold air straight down the carbs
Nice car I like the slammed look! Stance is everything!!!
Mango, details on your stand off lid please.
Brandon's coupe is awesome! looks like 17 wheels and tires to! DA Low Life!

not really much to it. i unbolted the hinges from the deck lid, installed 2 longer bolts with aluminum tube spacers. i added a flat steel plate so the bolts don't torque the fibreglass.
had a surprising number of people told me that my "trunk was opened".
I've since taken them off and put the luggage rack back on.
Just curious if you actually know, how much cooler, your engine is running with your "lid-lift kit" ? I like the way it looks ! A couple of retrofit door lock servo motors could be installed and controlled with a dash switch. They'd give it about 1.5" lift......Bruce
