Gentlemen and Ladies:

Here is the original post that I made a few years ago:

https://www.speedsterowners.com/forum/readmsg.asp?t=11081

It talks about creating a new and 'better' suspension for our cars. Even though I don't have a 'Speedster' at the moment, I do have an old Ghia vert that I'm workin' hard at making better than new. Here is a thread from over on the Samba from a company in California that has taken the long leap of faith of working out all the kinks when it comes to improving the handling of the current VW/Speedster suspension. You can just jump to page 19 and see the finished product or you can read the whole thread, I promise it is interesting. Not only is it well thought out, but it seems to be tested and proven. I'm still waiting on the persons own views of how this works for street use, but, at least it should be a major start in making our cars ride and handle better.

Like I said, you can just jump to page 19 and see the finished product or you can read the progress and testing of the suspension. Here is another link to their website:

Eyeball Engineering, that Jim mentioned, is actually in Fresno and Bob Eiland on this site has worked with them on his JPS, but it wasn't front end work. He knows Bruce the owner pretty well, (grey haired guy in the link photos). Here is a link to photos of their front end. http://eyeball-engineering.net/a-arm.html

While you are on their site, take a look at the engines in "Bobby's Ghia" and "Riddle's Roadster."
Hey Bob,

Can you tell Bruce thanks for his support. I got his mid mount (transmission mount) instead of the transmission strap that John mounted originally on my JPS coupe. With the rubber bushing it reduces the noise of the transmission. Now I hear the wonderfull engine sound more than the transmission noise.

Let me know how your install goes. I am curious if you can tell the difference.

Looks like the future is here now!!!!!!!

Of course, these are only for the ones that want the true ultimate in handling.............there really isn't anything wrong with the original suspension. This just takes the cars into the future. ;-)
