Hi all,  just a quick hello, new to the forum...

I am constructing a classic motor carriage 356 speedster replica, bought in 1996 (!) as a complete kit, not "completed", just all the parts were there.  It sat in boxes until 2004, then I went full speed ahead in one winter, including a tube frame chassis complete with aluminum floor pans instead of the shortened VW pan. Engine and transaxle were rebuilt and in place, all new after market brakes, lines etc. Body wise, all parts, Lights, etc, had been fitted and removed from the body. then It sat for 8 more years...right now I am just gearing up again, to complete it...the hood and trunk have to be hung, then it goes for paint.

While it's not a priority now, even as far as hobbies go, I hope to pick away at it over summer, completing it during the winter...

I know where you're at Zekester!

in 1975 I bought a 1/8th scale (!!) 550K Mercedes model kit by Pocher with the idea that if I was ever immobilized and homebound, recouperating from accident or illness, I'd have something to occupy my time.

This complex kit comes in a zillion pieces of rubber, leather, plastic and metal...Daunting!... So I set it aside, unopened, and instead bought a Pocher Fiat kit. Also 1/8th scale, but with only half a zillion pieces to assemble...and set it aside, also unopened, until the day came that I broke a leg.

The Pocher factory in Milan Italy was totally destroyed by fire in the late 70's. Consequently these unopened Italian Pocher kits are as rare as hens teeth and far, far, too valuable to even think of opening....So much for a recuperating project!
