I've been searching for a Beck 550 and found one. Now my garage is full the way I want it a beck Speedster and Spyder.
First let me thank again my mentor into the Madness, fellow SOC'er and good buddy Syl M. He was great as we drove up 95 from NVA. to outside of Philly with his trailer incase there were any problems picking up and driving the 550. No issues and I drove it home in rush hour on 95 about 150 miles with Syl following.
Next as most of you know Beck's Carey Hines and the folks at Beck are top notch. I needed info on this build and bugged him (It has some carb issues and had a tail light problem. Carey took the time just as with my 356 and offered me help. With his help and suggestions I fixed the tail light issue it was a bad taillight converter that the 550 uses. I didn't know what I had and I asked Carey about the carbs and the strange to me fan shroud. I sent some pic's and gave him the 2008 build info he checked his notes and told me it's a Jake Raby built engine with a Down the Middle, DTM fan shroud. Very cool it's at this point very tight/strong 1915 CC with maybe too big dual EMPI HPMX 44's, 4-1 stainless steel exhaust, wide 5, disc up front.
So until my better half gets home I think my garage looks pretty good with these two cars.
Thank you Syl and Carey!
Pete
