Hey all, new to the group and just wanted to say hi. My wife and I live in Fresno Ca. and recently bought a VS speedster. This was the car she wanted for as long as she could remember. Well after 27 years of marriage and getting all the kids out of the house the time was right. We managed to put over 700 miles on it in about 5 weeks and have enjoyed every minute. The smiles and thumbs up you get from people while driving these cars is crazy. I have been reading over posts here for a few weeks and am amazed at the amount of knowledge and helpfulness by the members here. I can already tell in the short time we have owned this car that I have been bitten by the madness that is the speedster.

Great looking Speedster (but then, aren't they all great looking?) and Welcome To The Madness, Jeff! Tell us about your car- engine if VW- displacement, carbs, heads, valve sizes, amount of porting, camshaft, exhaust, compression ratio, was it built on a Tuesday- you know, as much detail as possible!? trans (gear and ring & pinion ratios if you know them)? brakes- drums or discs, 4x130 late VW, early VW wide 5 or? suspension? wheels and tires? anything you think is special or one-off? and we are going to need more pics- lots of pics!
Welcome! Great looking Speedy!
ALB, bought it from the second owner and guess it to have been built around 2010. Sits on a 1966 pan with dual ports and twin carbs 1600 motor. Plan is for a larger engine in the future. Just enjoying it “as is” for now.
